Categories

The Foundation will grant $5,000 awards for individual artistic projects in the following categories:

Literary Arts:  poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, screenwriting, playwriting.

Visual Arts:  painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, installation, photography, collage, static digital art, performance art. 

Media Arts:  film (narrative, documentary, experimental or artistic), video (narrative, documentary, experimental or artistic), time-based digital art. 

Performing Arts: musical composition, choreography, original production.

In addition to the above awards, this year the Foundation is proud to announce the addition of the following new, dedicated awards: 

The George Cortes Award for Classical Singing

The Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Set Design

The Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Costume Design

The Robert L.B. Tobin Grand Prize for Artistic Excellence:  Winners from each category will be considered for an additional award in the amount of $7,500. 
The Foundation Board of Directors will select the recipient. 

Foundation awards are highly competitive and do not require a cash match.

The Foundation anticipates awarding fifteen (15) $5,000 awards plus The Robert L.B. Tobin Grand Prize for Artistic Excellence. 

The number of awards granted per category depends on the number of eligible applicants. 

The application period is July 15, through September 15, 2008.
